I do like a burger from time to time. Not one of those processed, contains 1% real meat types, but a nice, freshly made with actual beef one. Last night I fancied a burger – I actually wanted a BBQ’d burger, but that’s not practical in a first floor flat! So I rustled up these quick ones with a few items we had in the fridge, and put them until the grill. Some burger recipes call for an egg in them, I don’t bother with that in this recipe.
Burgers (makes 4)
500g Steak Mince
1 Red Onion, finely chopped
5 – 6 Sun-blushed Tomatoes, finely chopped
Large Dollop of Tomato ketchup
Salt and Pepper
Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix together with your hands until everything is well incorporated
Divide the mixture into 4, and shape into burger shaped patties.
At this point they can be wrapped in greaseproof paper and cling film and frozen – if you wish
Otherwise, cook the burgers in a pan, under the grill or on the BBQ.
Garnish as desired!
These are so quick and easy to make, you can just add in what other flavourings you want! I served mine quite simply with good old Cheddar Cheese and Salad – yum!
