Having dined at Restaurant Mark Greenaway a couple of times, I knew that I had to try his new(ish) venture – Bistro Moderne. Situated in the old Cafe Fish (previously Zanzero) in Stockbridge it was an easy dander for us one Sunday lunchtime. I had heard great things already, especially about the Sunday lunch so naturally that was what we had to have!
We started with a cocktail each (well it was after 12pm!!) I went for the ‘Lipgloss Martini’ and Stuart kept original with a Negroni – both tasty and feisty!
For Starter I had the Pea Soup with Garlic Croutons and Stuart had the Aberdeen Angus Beef Carpaccio – both very tasty.
For main (and what we really came for!) we chose the Roast Chicken Dinner for 2 (you can also have Roast Beef as well). The chicken came already broken up and with all the trimmings – including a massive Yorkshire pudding!
Having had Marks’s desserts before, I didn’t want to miss another opportunity so we forced ourselves to have an extra course! I went for the Chocolate and Mint Mousse Tart and Stuart had the Carrot Cake with a Pecan Ice Cream.
Bistro Moderne is another great addition to the Stockbridge dining scene and the bonus is; it’s also open for breakfast which I hope to try very soon!
