Friday seen the opening of the latest venture by Glasgow’s Burger Meats Bun people in Edinburgh. BMB Edinburgh occupies the former residence of Urban Angel on Forth Street and as luck would have it, today we passed here at lunchtime! We had been meaning to visit the Glasgow branch for a while, so it was an easy choice to pop in.
We were seated downstairs, which was bright and airy, with attentive service and funky tunes being played, not to mention a cool artwork! The menu is simple – burgers. You can have Beef, Chicken or Veggie, along with sides of chips and salads. Oh and Chicken Wings!
I went for the Smokin’ Bacon Burger and Stuart had the Fiery Burger with Bacon, accompanied by a side of cheesy chips and homemade slaw. One thing to note is that burgers are cooked slightly pink in the middle, so if you want it well done (like me!) then you just need to ask. Our burgers were cooked perfectly, with tasty toppings, salad and sauces, all housed in delicious brioche buns. The chips were cheesy and the slaw fresh and light.
Even though we were pretty full we managed to share a portion of these tasty Donuts with a Salted Caramel Dipping Sauce!
I’m glad BMB has opened up in our neighbourhood and I can see more visits on the cards – if nothing else to try their ‘grown up’ milkshakes and chicken wings! If you are in the Broughton area, BMB is definitely worth a visit.
