Vintage Bakes was the theme for the latest get together of the Edinburgh Bakers, which was held on Wednesday night in the lovely Casa Angelina on London Street. Being a fan of Casa Angelina anyway, there was really no decision to make about whether or not I would try and get a space on this event.
16 fellow cake eaters gathered in the cafes’ back room, which is all decked out in vintage furniture and trinkets as well as a dressing up box filled with fun hats and accessories! As you can see from below we were treated to a myriad of delicious cakes! I think I excelled myself this time in the number of slices I was able to consume!
Trying to think of something vintage-y to make I decided on Lily Vanili’s Orange and Almond Teacakes (though she does use Pink Grapefruit in her version!), which are quite tasty light bites, and no fancy icing to contend with either this time!
As usual a box of cake was taken home and was tucked into by Stuart! Though we did manage to make it last a couple of days!
It was a great evening, meeting lots of new people and chatting over great cake and interesting teas and coffees (Chilli Roobois being one!) If you are looking for somewhere to have an Afternoon Tea I would recommend Casa Angelina, theirs is truly delicious!
