Having collected far too many Strawberries at the Pick Your Own, I decided to continue with my exploits with fruit infused booze and set about making some Strawberry Vodka. The good thing about this recipe is, it requires just two ingredients and a little patience! It only needs between 3 – 7 days to ‘mature’ (and that really depends how strawberry-ee you want it!)
Strawberry Vodka (Makes 750ml)
Ingredients
750ml Cheap Vodka
600g Strawberries, washed and chopped into quarters
Method
-
Wash and Sterilise a 1 Litre Kilner Jar (or equivalent)
-
Once cool add the Vodka and Strawberries
-
Screw the lid on tightly, shake it up a little
-
Leave in a cool dark place for between 3 – 7 days
-
When ready, sterilise a glass bottle
-
Strain the vodka through a coffee filter to remove all the tiny fibres
-
Pour into the bottle and seal until ready to use
This is great neat over ice, or topped with a little prosecco. You could even make up a sugar syrup and use it in a long vodka, the choices are endless!
