I got a new sewing machine nearly 2 years ago. The original plan was that I would take some classes and make curtains for our (now not so) new flat. Needless to say it’s still in its box, and I haven’t taken any classes. Well, that was until Monday night when I was eventually organised enough to book a class at Love Materialise on Lady Lawson Street!
Love Materialise is a sweet little shop, kitted out with sewing machines, fab fabrics and a warm welcome. Reese, one of the owners was going to be showing us how to make a cushion (baby steps towards the curtains!)
We got to grips with our machines, practiced on some scraps of material, drank tea and ate cake ( Lemon and Rosemary from Lovecrumbs – yum yum), and then got to work on the masterpieces.
I’m quite pleased with this first attempt! Now I will be able to turn all that fabric I brought back from Japan into some cushions, probably more than we will ever need! Well, first step to curtain making complete!
Ohhh exciting. Love the fabric xxx
