This month, the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh are hosting “Botanic Lights”; a magical 1km long light trail which winds its way along the paths of the Botanics, literally showing the features in a new light.
As Stuart and I discovered last week on the opening night, it’s a rather good way to spend an hour or two (as long as you are brave enough to face the cold winter chill!). The tour is self-guided, so you can take your time wandering around or, in the case of our tour group; speed off – we never saw them again! There was also no restriction on cameras or tripods so plenty of opportunity to practice night photography.
If you missed the Enchanted Forest in Pitlochry then this is a great chance to see the same same sort of thing closer to home.
Here are some photos of the evening:
Botanic Lights runs every night until the 23rd November and ticket information can be found on the Botanic Garden’s website.
These photos are so beautiful! Such pretty colours and patterns. Hope you guys wrapped up warm!

Thanks Katey! We definitely did wrap up warm, it was a proper cold winter night. I’m surprised a lot of the photos are in focus with the amount of shivering I did!
